Crosspointe History
Crosspointe has been located in the Hamilton Township community since the
Fall of 1997. Our Christian family re-located from the community of
Silverton, OH – which borders the Kenwood area of Cincinnati’s "immediate"
suburbs – where we had ministered for over 75 years under the name of "The
Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer." Through what certainly was a very
sensitive
time period of prayerful decision making, the Lord led us to re-locate
into the Hamilton Township community with passionate intentions to become
a very active and substantial part of the community.
Since our move to Hamilton Township we have invested ourselves into making
a difference, not only for our community, but even more so for Jesus. We
strongly believe that a church should be about sharing God’s love in
practical and meaningful ways in order that God can impact our world for
His glory. Because we believe that developing relationships is
what drives our mission, we have involved ourselves with our community by
constantly getting "out & about" among our neighbors. For example, you may
run into a group from Crosspointe handing out "lollypops of love" in front
of one of our communities local retail stores, or meet up with a team of
members walking the neighborhood handing out light bulbs to homeowners who
have a light or two out in their home. Like other thriving Christian
communities we look for small ways to just simply say we care and that God
loves people and wants them to experience that love in a real way.
It's that type of love that motivates the Crosspointe family to provide community programs for the entire family.
Much of what we do utilizes our modern, state-of-the-art facilities (dedicated in 2000) such as our multi-purpose
Family Life Center. For example, one of the community-wide programs we
offer is our seasonal Family Film Nights. Family Film Night is an event
where we show a family movie on our giant screen multi media system -
which includes awesome theatre-like sound - serving popcorn and pop (all for free).
Many of these Family Film Nights feature a thematic decor such
as the "Land of Narnia," or rows of decorated "revved" up cardboard "box"
cars for the movie "Cars," etc.
We also provide an incredible
opportunity for growth in our CCN satellite ministry which broadcasts
seminars and conferences covering a wide range of relevant topics for
churches and individuals (for more information on CCN broadcasts visit our
Events page)
In
the Fall, Crosspointe sponsors a huge community-wide event with the annual
Hamilton Township "Pumpkin Fest" community festival. In keeping with our
beloved German heritage as Lutherans, included in the "Pumpkin Fest"
festival is our own version of "Oktoberfest" roast pig and all.
In addition, with our fine facilities and the large multi-purpose gymnasium we're
also
able to offer community athletics such as basketball and volleyball,
community dinners and seminars. We also look to the future to develop our
26-acre land site with soccer fields and a baseball diamond or two.
